Forget the traffic, overcrowded beaches and expensive city breaks, why not take a break from it all this summer and enjoy some peace of mind in nature?
Activity holidays are a great alternative to the traditional ‘crowded’ beach staycation as covid lockdown lifts you get off the beaten track and comfort zone.
The River Severn is the longest river in the UK and is a true hidden gem in Britain, and with our river canoes now available for rent you don’t even have to worry about finding the right gear!
There’s no better way to unwind than by taking some time away from modern society and enjoying the natural beauty, but still feeling close enough at hand if needed. With campsites offering low-cost options as well as luxurious glamping sites, there’s something suitable for everyone this summer whether looking to escape civilisation or just seeking an adventure.
The River Severn is perfect for UK canoeing holidays with its tranquil waterway. You’ll be able to explore ancient forests, historic roman settlements and discover wildlife on your journey. There are many campsites along the river where you can stay in luxury tents or wooden huts – just right for outdoor adventures!
Part tranquil getaway, part challenge, our 2, 3 & 5-day canoe trips are perfect for those looking to escape the rat race and explore nature at its finest. You’ll be given all the equipment you need, plus expert tuition from our instructors who know this river inside out!
No previous experience is required – just the desire to get out, about and enjoy nature.
The River Severn offers a range of different canoeing trips for all levels of experience; novice through to expert in order to cater for every type of traveller.
Don’t forget that this is also an activity holiday with camping provided by our partner campsites along the river so it’s easy enough for anyone who wants some time away from home but still likes their creature comforts. You can indulge in barbecues, cook-ups or picnics whilst enjoying views across woodland clearings and wildlife spotting opportunities and even a mid-trip campfire cheese & wine evening.
There’s also plenty of great opportunities to stretch your leg, buy ice creams and visit the loo as you pass through some of the most picturesque towns and villages in Shropshire including the world-famous Ironbridge Gorge, Wroxeter Roman City, Bridgnorth and more.
All the necessary equipment from boats, paddles, safety equipment, tents and river licenses are included and you have the option of chartering your own trip or joining a guided excursion. We will also transfer you to the start and pick you up following your trip.
As soon as you arrive – deep in rural Shropshire – we’ll transfer you by car to your start point where you will receive canoeing and camping instruction and grab an early night ahead of your first days paddling.
The next morning after breakfast you start your trip and, in your own time, and your way through the countryside.
